WE’RE BACK!!
SATURDAY 2nd AUGUST 2008
A GLENTORAN OPEN DAY WITH A DIFFERENCE!
GLENTORAN COMMUNITY TRUST in association with GLENTORAN FOOTBALL CLUB are delighted to announce …
“GCT CULTURE KICKS” - “COLOURS OF THE WORLD 08”
… as the Club and it’s supporters open the doors of the Oval to the community of East Belfast and beyond…!
It has been a few years since Glentoran last hosted an open day during the close season at the Oval. The event was always considered a successful and unique curtain raiser to a new campaign. Since then East Belfast has undoubtedly become a multi-cultural society. “GCT Culture Kicks” - “Colours of the World 08” invite the now broadly diverse cultural community which exists around our East Belfast football club to join us for a day of sport, entertainment, learning and friendship.
The Glentoran Community Trust are now proud to announce that the event will kick off in Global style, with a multi-cultural theme, as the Oval plays host to the IFA supported GCT Unity Cup. The Unity Cup as a project has run for several seasons, a tournament which invites teams made up from the various ethnic communities within Northern Ireland to play for a trophy - the Unity Cup, sponsored this season by the GCT.
The Cup will open proceedings in the morning of “Culture Kicks”, and will include sides from the Chinese Football Association of Northern Ireland, Eastern Europe, Nigeria, and World United. A World United Glentoran side will also participate.
The day will also include a host of other attractions:
