The project is at a fairly advanced stage with draft proposals and funding on the table from the Arts Council/Housing Executive.
Details were revealed at the recent GCT Annual General Meeting.
The initial draft (below right) has already been submitted and approved by the relevant funding bodies, but a final design has yet to be confirmed with the artist - himself chosen from a list approved by the Council.
Plans are to incorporate portraits of a 'greatest ever' Glentoran 11, and we are in the process of polling members as to a final shortlist, before putting it to the wider Glentoran community for their final input.
Enquiries are also being made with a view to securing sponsorship for the attached billboard, to coincide with the mural launch date - hopefully some time in the early New Year.
