DETROIT COUGARS (HOME)
The black home shirt of the Detroit Cougars was way ahead of its time. Roster numbers on the front, the reverse and the sleeves along with players names emblazoned across the back of the jersey made it an iconic image from the fabled “Summer of 67.” an era which will always remain special to all Glentoran supporters.
This is the shirt worn by the Glens during the notorious Bangu riot incident with the boys from Brazil, and on the night when the Glens took on the world’s greatest keeper Gordon Banks and his Stoke City side at the University Stadium in Detroit.
The black Cougars shirt is available exclusively through the GCTretro online store. The white Detroit Cougars away shirt saw action in Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York. Again this superb reproduction of an epic Glentoran jersey has been created solely for GCTretro. This is the shirt worn in the win over Cagliari in Chicago, and in the magnificent contests against Cerro Montevideo in the Big Apple and Shamrock Rovers in Boston.
